Hello everyone,

I am one of the people from Baguio (pure blooded). I am so glad to read your comments about the issues of our city (although it really hurts), but I think some are going too far. For one thing, the money concerned in this 'basura thing' comes from the pockets of the people up here. It is also painful for us to be paying a lot for the garbage our city is producing. The hauling and dumping cost us around 60M to 80M these several months.

We are currently looking for a feasible site for our dumpsite and I am proud to tell you, people of Aringay, that we too are opposing the dumping of garbage in your place. Aside from it is too far, the garbage of Baguio is also a source of money if recovered properly.

My partner and I are currently working on a research thesis about the material recovery facility that will recover most of the garbage of our city. It is a long process but will be an efficient tool to help us out (hopefully).

To those who keep bad mouthing our officials here in Baguio, please stop doing that. The people up here respect their leaders even if they do a lot of mistakes. (That is the reason why we prosper; we respect, love and pray for our leaders).

I want to hear more from you guys, and i really appreciate comments and suggestions. You can e- mail me at yoh_millatone@yahoo.com

You may want to visit the youtube re:anatomy of a sanitary landfill. The engineering design is the one adopted by Clark Metro Waste Management Corporation in Capas, Tarlac. This same engineering design is the pattern for the proposed Aringay Sanitary Landfill.

Experts says that there is no such thing as zero waste no matter how hi-tech the technology may be. An old commented that he is not opposing on the proposed sanitary landfill provided that no Baguio garbage will be included. He quoted that if the Aringay garbage wont be manage well, what more with the estimated 10 tons a day of Baguio Garbage to be transported in Aringay everyday? I want to share the message of Vice Mayor Rolly Herrera to the residents of Aringay. " Sa mga taga Aringay, makaka asa kayo na ang isyung ito ay hindi basta basta mapagdi desisyonan. Na kailangan ay idaan naming lahat sa tamang proseso. Kami ay magka conduct ng public hearing sa ibat ibang lugar at barangay. Hindi lang iilan na tao ang dapat mag desisyon. Makaka asa kayo na ang bagay na ito ay tatapusin namin sa loob ng isang buwan. Very well said Vice Mayor. God bless Aringay and its beautiful people!

Drayber ti jeep nga agpa Sta Cecilia ni Pedrox ket ditoy na nga naam-ammo ni Belen. One evening he stopped by at her house tapno agarem. Both of them were shy. NAbayag da nga agsinsinango diay lamesaan diay balkon ngem awan ti makairugi nga agsao. Pedrox only smiles and grins. It was during this time that Belen had a glimpse of a maluggay leaf in Pedrox teeth. To break the ice, ken tapno saan nga mabainan ni Pedrok, Belen said; "Ammok ti sindam". "Ows, sige man no matugpuam", sungbat ni Pedrox to play along. "Marunggay!", exclaimed Belen. "Aha, you wrong. Idi kalman ah", palastog nga sungbat ni Pedrox.

i feel so bad reading your sad experience. I have met your parents when i went home for my in-law's funeral. Although your post has been almost a year, i am certain that the sadness and pain is still fresh in your heart. I have been to Dubai too but only for a very short time yet enough to know and feel the loneliness almost every Filipino there go through. I also have a nephew there, you must know him because he would have been together with your brother. Just think of the reasons you are there and fulfill your dreams and the time will come for you to enjoy the fruits of your labor.
